Layoffs Equal New Jobs but when we are experiencing this frustrating situation, it is difficult to think about the layoff situation in a positive manner. My Story: I consider myself a qualified layoff specialist because I too have been through this layoff process a number of times. Enough times that I felt too embarrassed to mention. Then one day I felt the need to tell my story, offer encouragement and support to other professionals as they journey through the choppy unemployment job seeking waters of securing a new job . My first layoff was in 1989, second layoff in 1995, another in 2010, fourth in 2013, again in 2018, and my most recent layoff was in 2021. These repeated occurrences are events that I am not proud of, but I continue to thank God for providing well-paying jobs with benefits after each loss. I’m also grateful for the amazing opportunity to help others navigate this often lonely journey. I began offering my layoff support services to provide strategic job-search planning and daily accountability for staying on track. It is also my hope to help clients transform a mindset of loss to that of new opportunity. My coaching service provides a one-on-one personalized plan for next steps in your job search, interview preparation, career change advice, LinkedIn optimization, and much more.
